The Rathmines Group held a workshop in September to construct a wicking garden bed in the grounds of the Catalina Conference Centre. Wicking garden beds require less maintenance than conventional garden beds to produce an abundance of vegies and other plants.
This garden bed will form the start of the Community Garden and we are very appreciative that the Catalina Conference Centre has agreed to have the garden in their grounds. As it is elevated, it is also a valuable resource as an activity for disabled people as it can be accessed from a wheelchair.
