8. Mugga
I am a Mugga (Aboriginal from the Sydney Region) [1]
Red ironbark Eucalyptus sideroxylon I was planted here by the Geraghty family between 1974 - 1976.
I am a medium size tree, 8-25m tall. I don’t shed my dark grey bark and I have lovely pink to red flowers that come out between autumn and spring. [2] You can find my homelands mainly in inland New South Wales as well as southern Queensland and northern Victoria. |
I look great and provide shade and shelter.
I produce high quality honey I attract bees, birds and other pollinators. I can cope with most soils. I can cope with moderate drought. I can be used for:
