Make your own reusable bags
Boomerang Bags
A local resident is seeking volunteers to establish a Boomerang Bags sewing group in Lake Macquarie. The group will organise sewing bees to make reusable Boomerang Bags from recycled materials to replace plastic bags.
Start conversations, make friends, up-cycle materials and work towards shifting society’s throw away mentality to a more sustainable revolution of re-use – one community, needle and thread at a time. To find out more or to register your interest in sewing bees, contact [email protected]. You can also follow them on Facebook: www.facebook.com/lakeMacboomerangbags. Fabric Collection
The Cardiff Area Sustainable Neighbourhood Group are assisting by collecting fabric to make the bags out of. If you have some suitable, clean fabric to donate, please get in touch with them, [email protected]. Linens are best, but sheeting will do. Bags can even be made from old, clean T-shirts. |
