Our priority projects
Living Sustainably
Community Garden - A joint project between the Woodrising, Booragul and Marmong Point Sustainable Neighbourhood Group and Lake Macquarie High School with the support of Booragul Public School and Five Islands School. This project aims to create opportunities for localised organic food production and the growth of community spirit. This will be a meeting space for residents to socialise, share knowledge, skills and interests, and to grow food.
Walking and Cycling - Let's make our neighbourhood less dependent on car use by increasing opportunities for walking and cycling.
Protecting the Natural Environment
Indian Myna Control and Biodiversity Enhancement - This project aims to reduce the impact of Indian Mynas on biodiversity.
Waterways Improvement - Help enhance the health and biodiversity of spectacular Marmong Wetlands, Marmong Creek and Lake Macquarie.
Enhancing Community Wellbeing and Pride
Graffiti Prevention and Street Art - Help build community spirit and pride through the creation of vibrant street art that engages with all sectors of the community including local young people.
