National Tree Day events 2021
Sustainable Neighbourhood and local Landcare groups are teaming up to celebrate National Tree Day 2021 with a series of five events across Lake Macquarie City.
The tree planting and Landcare events have been prompted by volunteers from ReLeaf Lake Mac, a Sustainable Neighbourhood project, which brings community members together to preserve, protect, and enhance Lake Macquarie’s urban forests.
We are encouraging everyone to lend a hand, and contribute to the liveability of our city. Celebrate National Tree Day with Landcare and Sustainable Neighbourhoods
Greener spaces make our neighbourhoods better. They create places that are more appealing to work, play and relax in and help us feel a sense of place and community within our busy lives. Trees and native plants are good for our health and wellbeing, cool our cities, reduce air pollutants, regulate water flow, lower carbon emissions and even increase property value.
We’ve teamed up with our local Landcarers who work consistently to restore, rehabilitate and conserve our natural areas across the City.

Join in for a relaxed morning with a bunch of friendly volunteers, and help increase tree cover and improve our natural areas for people, wildlife and the planet.
If you can’t make it for National Tree Day, keep in mind you can join your local Landcare or Sustainable Neighbourhood team at any time throughout the year.
