Compost Bin Making
SHARE A SKILL - LEARN A SKILL
This activity proved to be a very popular event when it was held on Saturday 29th April, 2017.
CASNG Member Diane was an entertaining and very informative host, as she constructed a compost bin using recycled wooden pallets in front of an appreciative audience in her own backyard.
CASNG Member Kerry helped collect a range of suitable compost materials (cardboard, grass, chicken & cow manure, straw, coffee grounds, comfrey leaves, and any "plant rubbish") which Diane then proceeded to add in layers to the completed bin.
A pamphlet with tips, suggested ingredients and ideas on composting, given to participants helped to enhance the skill sharing.
Diane, with the assistance of her family and friends - The Two Judys - set a very high standard for future CASNG events with the catering. Scones with jam & cream, cakes, mini quiches, soup, and endless pots of tea or coffee were a huge hit, and added greatly to the relaxed, friendly atmosphere of the event.
CASNG would like give a big thank you to Diane, Kerry, and The Two Judys - and thank all those who attended this Share A Skill - Learn A Skill event, making it a very successful day.
