Our vision for a sustainable Cardiff Area 2025
A neighbourhood that values and enhances our natural environments, minimises our resource consumption, and provides a friendly, safe and attractive environment.

What we value about Cardiff Area:
• Our natural environment including bushland, wildlife, birdlife, and proximity
to the Lake, beaches and open spaces
• Our lifestyle that combines a peaceful bushland environment, and is
close to all amenities such as shops, library, schools,
industrial estate, sporting grounds and Cardiff train station
• Our friendly, family oriented community that provides a great
environment for our children

We want Cardiff Area to be a place where:
• We actively care for and enjoy our bushland areas that support thriving wildlife.
• Everyone minimises their use of resources and integrates environmental sustainability into their everyday actions.
• People leave their cars at home and use well designed community infrastructure, including public transport, walkways and cycleways, to access goods and services locally.
• Our community supports each other, is well prepared, and can respond effectively to emergencies.
• Parks and public facilities are clean, attractive and safe places, and we have a strong sense of community and pride of place.

Sustainable Neighbourhoods Lake Macquarie
Our vision - Neighbourhoods that are empowered to live sustainably.
Our mission - Our work is to foster sustainable neighbourhoods and a healthy environment in Lake Macquarie
Our values - We are guided by our values of participation, inclusion, collaboration, empowerment and shared responsibility.
The Lake Macquarie Sustainable Neighbourhood Alliance is registered as a not for profit incorporated association under NSW Fair Trading. Sustainable Neighbourhood activities are managed and governed by volunteers and financed through grants, collaboration and community fundraising.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land and waters on which we live, work and play, the Awabakal People, and acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who now reside in this area. We pay our respect to Elders past and present, and future cultural knowledge holders.
