Cake, conversation and Lake Mac's Water Quality

We had an interesting Saturday morning with over 35 people attending to explore a number of aspects of water quality in Lake Macquarie's catchment.
Jo Lynch from the Hunter Community Environment Centre presented details of their report 'Out of the Ashes'. The full report and more details are available here. The Hunter Community Environment Centre have also developed a letter writing guide. Symon Walpole from Council also presented and answered questions about the ecosystem health of Lake Macquarie and its catchment. Of course we enjoyed plenty of cake and morning tea treats, and ended the morning with a chance to catch up with our neighbours. Thanks to the Warners Bay Area Sustainable Neighbourhood Group for proposing the topic.
