The Valentine Sustainable Neighbourhood Group is made up of residents who live in Valentine or feel a connection to the area through family, work, friends, history or experience.
We want to maintain our village atmosphere, protect our natural environment and support our safe, vibrant and active community.
If you are interested in helping to support and improve our neighbourhood, no matter how little time you have, we would love to hear from you.
We have engaged with our community to develop a community vision and priorities. Check out the Valentine Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan (1mb pdf) for the full details.

Our Current Projects
We've got heaps of different projects on the boil. We welcome new volunteers to assist with a range of roles. Here are some examples of our current projects.
Community events
|
Bring your ideas for community events to a Valentine SNG meeting. Help organise a street party, a family fun day in the park or information sessions on environmental and sustainability topics.
|
Improve transport in and around Valentine
|
Work with residents and Council to identify walking routes and cycleways into, around and out of the suburb.
Investigate ways to link Warners Bay and Belmont through Valentine. Work with us to develop actions to improve access to, and safety around, Valentine Public School such as flashing 40km signs and reduced speed limits. |
Clean up and reduce graffiti
|
Get involved in Graffiti Action Day. Investigate innovative graffiti removal initiatives. Establish a graffiti reporting system to speed up graffiti removal in the neighbourhood.
|
Join local Landcare activities
|
Come along to regular working bees in Green Point Foreshore Reserve and Allambee Park Bushland Reserve.
