Renewal of Lambton Colliery Buildings
BackgroundThe Redhead Sustainable Neighbourhood Group felt it was important to preserve and renew one of their important local historical sites.
How did we do it?The group made several submissions to the NSW State Government, asking for the site to be refurbished and preserved. The group also met with Lake Macquarie City Council representatives, making connections between residents, community groups and government.
What we achievedBased on submissions provided by the group, Lake Macquarie City Council was given a grant of $145,000 to refurbish the site!
