Central Coast Community Environment Network. The Community Environment Network (CEN) was formed in 1997 as an over arching body to support individuals and groups in Lake Macquarie, Wyong and Gosford who are working for the environment.
Climate Action Newcastle. Climate Action Newcastle (CAN) is a committed group of local residents from all backgrounds working together to address the single biggest issue facing humanity: climate change.
Conservation Volunteers Australia - Newcastle Office. Conservation Volunteers is Australia’s leading practical conservation organisation. Since 1982 Conservation Volunteers has fulfilled its mission to attract and manage a force of volunteers in practical conservation projects for the betterment of the Australian environment.
Hunter and Central Coast Regional Environmental Management Strategy. HCCREMS is an innovative and highly successful regional initiative being implemented through the collaborative efforts of fourteen Councils in the Hunter, Central and Lower North Coast of NSW. The website contains information about projects and resources delivered through the HCCREMS including: biodiversity, water, climate, weeds, coastal, roadside, sustainability, education and compliance.

Lake Macquarie Climate Action. Lake Macquarie Climate Action was formed in 2007 by a group of local residents concerned about the threat and lack of action to mitigate climate change. LMCA works with our local council, businesses and other like minded organisations to achieve our aims.
Lake Macquarie Landcare Network. Landcare is a volunteer organisation devoted to caring for the environment in a hands-on and practical way. Landcare is supported by all levels of government and Lake Macquarie City Council is leading the way at the local level. Over 250 Landcare groups work on a wide range of projects around our city. Individuals and groups may work in urban or rural areas, on the coast, by the lake, in the bush, along riparian zones, and even in the Landcare Resource Office.
Transition Towns Newcastle (incorporating Permaculture Hunter). The Transition Town model is an inspirational, positive grassroots phenomenon, inviting participation from all in our communities in moving towards a truly sustainable society – where a sustainable society is defined as one which satisfies the needs of the present generation without compromising the capacity of future generations to meet their needs.
